Congratulations to alumnus Nick Hoffman (MA--Public History & Museum Studies) for "Progressive Appleton: Through the Lens of W.D. Schlafer," an exhibition that opened at Appleton's History Museum at the Castle on November 15, 2011. Based on the photographs of the hardware store proprietor, W.D. Schlafer, the exhibit explores how the Progressives brought changes to the city and altered work places, education, transportation, local government, and much else.
